We collect the minimum data needed to make detext work. We do not sell your data.

What we collect

• Conversations you upload — text and screenshots, sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) for analysis.
• Email address — only if you sign in or opt into the email gate after a result.
• Anonymous fingerprint — a one-way hash of IP + user-agent + browser language, used to gate free uses. Not personally identifying.
• Payment metadata — Stripe handles your card data directly. We never see card numbers; we only store customer/subscription IDs.

How long we keep it

• Screenshots: automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Analysis text + AI output: kept until you delete your account.
• Email and subscription records: kept while your account exists.

Who we share it with

• Google Gemini (AI provider) — to generate analyses.
• Stripe — to process payments.
• Supabase — our database + auth.
• Vercel — hosting.
• PostHog (optional analytics) — anonymized product usage data.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it to train AI models.

Your rights (GDPR / PIPEDA)

You can request export or deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@detext.app. We'll comply within 30 days. You also have the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication and (if enabled) for analytics. No third-party advertising cookies.
